Our Projects
International Lighting Award Winner
The Growthpoint project won the prestigious European Lux Magazine International Lighting Project of the Year award (2014).
IBE partnered with major lighting companies and Africa’s largest energy provider in the largest commercial electricity saving lighting initiative in Africa, and one of the largest in the world at the time. More than 100 000 energy-efficient lamps and light fittings were either replaced or retrofitted over a period of 10 months.

Complete Lighting Retrofit
The quality of IBE’s previous installations lead to our selection as the sole contractor and installer at Shell House, the former headquarters of the British multinational, Shell plc, and South Africa’s current ruling party, the ANC.
The common areas of the historic building were completely retrofitted with 1127 new lamps and fittings over a period of 2 weeks.
Lighting Upgrade
After successfully winning the tender to provide energy-efficient lighting at Hatfield’s most popular shopping destination, IBE worked closely with stakeholders to deliver a solution across multiple retail, fitness and office spaces.
1136 units were retrofitted over the course of a 3-week period, simultaneously reducing energy consumption, maintenance costs and improving lighting quality.
Complete Lighting Retrofit
The quality of IBE’s previous installations also lead to our selection as the sole contractor and installer at Solly Sachs House, an iconic building with its distinctive, futuristic exterior, located in the heart of the Johannesburg CBD.
The common areas of this historical building were completely retrofitted with 843 new lamps and fittings within a period of 2 weeks.
Complete Lighting Retrofit
Pretoria Boys High School’s lighting infrastructure was scheduled for an upgrade and IBE was asked to submit a proposal, using energy-efficient LED technologies as a means of reducing PBHS’s monthly electricity expense.
Delivery of product, installation of more than 1200 fittings and removal of waste were all completed within 5 weeks of project inception – with minimal disruption to staff and students.
